Aims of the AACD
The Association of Academic Cosmetic Dermatology (AACD) is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
The aims of the AACD are to:

Provide educational training for resident dermatologists
- Encourage resident engagement
- Improved access to injectables and lasers
- Improved training opportunities with appropriate feedback
- Protected faculty time and faculty involvement
- Practice and quality improvement initiatives

Undertake scientific research into cosmetic dermatology
- Multi center database for collection of routine data
- Multi center cohort studies
- Multi center RCTs
- Guidelines of care for cosmetic and laser dermatology
- Publish the findings of such research for the general public’s benefit

Develop guidelines of care for cosmetic and laser dermatology
- Describe the role of laser and procedural dermatology in treating the sequelae of complex medical dermatology conditions

Collaborate with other relevant dermatology societies
- Close collaboration with ASDS, including cosmetic fellowship training program
- Collaboration with APD Dermatologic Surgery section
